"Going Green"
Many ask "What can I do to make a DIFFERENCE?"
In 2002, Carl and I asked that question. We traveled to Australia to see first hand and up close as to how the Australians were able to reduce their organic waste going to the landfills by 65% in a 4 year period---from
1996 to 2000. We found that each household, office and classroom was encouraged to use the Worm Composting Unit called Can O Worms
to Compost Organic Waste. One of these units, with the 3 trays and starting with 2 lbls of composting worms, can compost 600 pounds of organic waste per year. Just think----you can eliminate 600 pounds of garbage from going to the landfill. Multiply that 600 pounds by the number of households in your neighborhood, in your city, in your state. It is mind boggling, the impact this would have. Less garbage is going to the curb. Garbage pick-up could be reduced to 1 pick up per week instead of 2.
Of course, this reduces the cost of the vehicles, gas, and manpower and also lessens the release of emissions into our atmosphere.
We personally have reduced our waste taken to the curb to one garbage can per 3 weeks. Our recyclables are also 1 every 3 weeks. We can certainly reduce the over all cost and expense of garbage pick-up.
The Can O Worms that has helped us to achieve this goal, is completely odorless and takes up very little space. It can easily find a place in your home, apartment, office or classroom. The 600 pounds of organic garbage that you are going to feed the worms, will yield back to you approximately 120 pounds of worm castings per year. This is a Natural Plant Food that can be used instead of chemical fertilizers. The bottom tray collects the vermi liquiid or commonly known as Worm Tea. Approximately 24 gallons of vermi-liquid can be collected from the Can O Worms in a year. This Natural Liquid can be used instead of Chemical insecticides, fungicides and liquid fertilizers. With all these natural products, we are helping to remediate our soil and making NATURALS a NEW WAY of LIFE. A much more healthy approach to caring for our lawns, trees, and plants.
We all can make a difference. We just need to re-think our practices of the past and go forward with thoughtful changes that will favorably impact the health and safety of all peoples as well as our environment.
We are all called to be GOOD STEWARDS of the Creation that has been entrusted to our care. Our persoanl steps can be seemingly small but
when we combine them with so many other caring persons-----What an impact our efforts will accomplish.

We all are quite
familiar with our Waste Problems.
We
know that presently we fight to control pollution of our air, water,
and "mother earth". All the chemicals that are used for growing
our fruits, vegetables and grains certainly cannot be healthy for
us. The chemically enhanced grain then is fed to our chickens and
our livestock for faster growing and tender meats........ What effects
do consuming these products have on us? In light of these growing
concerns, is there an effective alternative?
WORMS-----
composting worms, are an age old but almost forgotten solution.
Composting Worms
will "EAT YOUR GARBAGE". They will eat all of your "GREEN WASTE"
ie, paper, cardboard, kitchen refuse, grass clippings etc. (They
will not eat plastic, glass, metal, bones and preferably no meat
as it takes too long to digest) All the above can be reduced and
converted to a useful bi-product at the place where the waste is
created. The Bi-Products are WORM CASTINGS and WORM TEA.
WORM
CASTINGS are the excretions of the Worm after eating your Garbage.
They convert your Garbage to a very high quality plant and soil
enhancer. It is completely natural and organic and very highly concentrated.
Worm Castings are used for ¼" -1/2" top dressing on your lawns,
plants etc. It feeds your plants on demand.
WORM
TEA is collected by the spraying of the worm pits. The worm
urine as well as the other nutrients are combined and recycled.
The end result is a liquid plant and soil enhancer that can be diluted
to a 1 part Worm Tea to 50 parts Water. (1-50 ratio). This can be
used as a fertilizer as well as insecticide. Again----all is Natural.
The
advantage is twofold: reduce our waste to landfills, while at the
same time getting a return product which will help us grow bigger
& better plants. You can't go wrong!
How
can you get involved in this important endeavor?

dweller, home owner, or school teacher interested in getting your

Reduce
Organic Waste to a major asset!
The Vermi-Converter..
reduces organic waste to plant-loving mulch quickly...all thanks
to our tireless friend, the red worm. Who can use such a machine?
Business owners, restaurants, golf courses, schools and others who
produce large amounts of organic waste, including recyclable paper.
Visit our Vermi-Converter page to see the benefits of having a waste bin that works like a
worm bin.. Not only will you reduce your waste, the output is a
useful bi-product, worm castings.
